Yes, the 'Internationl Kiteboarding Organisation' aka IKO is the Internatiol Kiteboarding Organisation. It is responsible for setting International standards for kitesurf training both of students and instructors with the World renowned IKO Kiteboarder Card which have levels of Kiteboarder level 1, 2 and 3. To join the KSEA club you need to join the BKSA and KSEA via the BKSA website. Kitesurf East Anglia is listed as a BKSA recognised club, when you join the BKSA select the Local Club 'Kitesurf East Anglia' and you will be helping Kite Surf East Anglia to support the sport in the Eastern Region......
To join the KSEA club it costs just £5 and you can join when you join the BKSA for a total price of £35. For this you get a BKSA welcome pack as well as Annual Third Party Liability Kite Insurance cover to 5 million. Kitesurfing lessons are run by
independent instructors and generally take place in Suffolk @ Felixstowe or Shingle St or in Essex @ Clacton
or Frinton however lessons can also be arranged in other
locations on a case by case basis such as Sunny Hunny(Hunstanton).....
IKO kitesurfing courses run
based on demand up till the end of October, this includes both
Kitesurf Introductory Taster days and IKO Level 2 and IKO

Courses run based on the BKSA / IKO Kiteboarder Level 1,2 or 3 schedule that can be found here. Dependent on your progress on the course will depend on what level you achieve on the course and therefore what your instructor will sign you off against on your IKO Kiteboarder card. Once you have completed your course you can always come back to get additional sign off as you progress from your instructor.
The normal number of students per kitesurf course
is 2 with a maximum of 4. 1:1 tuition is available as it states
on a one to one basis for £35 per hour(minimum of 2 hours)
however for an extra £10 per hour it can be arranged on a
two person basis.
The cost of the courses include use of all equipment
required for the training with the noted exception of wetsuit's and
booties which need to be provided by the student and can be purchased
from Edgeriders on Ipswich 01473 232918 before hand if required.
The answer to this is NO. Courses will only run
if it is safe to do so and this is at the sole discretion of your
Kitesurf Instructor. If a course has to be cancelled then you will
be notified by 9am on the day of your course, you will then need
to book a replacement date to commence within 3 month's of the original

anyone under 18 years of age, this is due to insurance restrictions.
The Taster course costs £120, the IKO Level
1/2 course costs £220 and the IKO Level 3 course costs £120.
1:1 tuition is available @ £35 per hour.
The Taster Day Kitesurf Lesson
and IKO Level 3 kitesurfing lessons are single day courses
and they run for 6 hours daily. Start times range from 8am to 12pm dependent on local weather and tidal conditions, an average course would run from 10am until approx 4pm as an example. The IKO Level 1/2 kitesurfing
course is a two day course and run's on both days starting between 8am and 12pm again dependent on conditions. 1:1 courses are run by the hour. Course start times will be confirmed by your instructor prior to course commencement.
All kitesurf instructors are IKO / BKSA qualified to at least Instructor Level 2 and hold
valid first aid certification and power boat licences, this ensures
that you are in the best possible hands for your kitesurf training.
Neither, all instructors are fully independent and have their own disclaimer, feedback forms, IKO cards and insurance. Neither Kite Surf East Anglia nor Edgeriders Co. Ltd can be held responsible for any loss or damages incurred during the courses run by the independent kitesurf instructors. Kite Surf East Anglia and Edgeriders act purely as a third party introducing student with an affiliated independent kite instructor.
