Tried the Flexifoil Ion 3
yet? Well if not why not, the kite is awesome. With a mass of features, higher aspect than the Ion2 and the
best all round kite we've had the honour to fly, even
better than the Ion2 which is very hard to beat. The Flexifoil Ion 2
was the dogs, basically the Ion has got better and the Ion 3 is just
the dogs bxxlox. Whilst everyone else was at the mercy of the gusty
and under/over powered conditions in March '08 in Felixstowe near
Ipswich the 12.5m Flexifoil Ion three was extreme. Going upwind
effortlessly when others were going downwind in the lulls or getting
over powered in the peaks, the Flexifoil Ion3 did it all. At 86KG
I've not experienced a kite like it and with a slightly higher
aspect than the Ion Two it had super hang time. The 12.5M Flexifoil
Ion3 performed so sweet, huge lift, fast turning, stable,
controllable and in the conditions that was amazing. The build
quality is also second to none as you would expect from a Flexi with
slightly fatter wingtip bladder for more rigidity. The Ion 3 has
reinforcement in the right places, upgraded E-Z one pump system,
neoprene encased air clamps, wingtip dump valve, higher aspect than
last years Ion2, great looks, the choice of 4 line freeride or 5
line freestyle configurations. The Ion3 kite comes with
an excellent upgraded bar and safety system which is great,
softer bar knurling, swivel chicken loop rather than on front lines,
landing handle on both sides of the bar and tidier de-power strap plus more.
The Flexifoil Atom 08 on the other hand is the NEW all rounder kite from Flexi, it is a great kite with lots of pull and super responsive. The 12M is super fast through the air, faster than the Ion3 12.5M - it flies extremely well, very stable and easy to relaunch. The Atom 2008 is a brilliant kite, great for those un-hooked and wakestyle tricks as it has a little more grunt than the ION3. The kite is a 4 line only setup and as such it has been tweaked to perfection with just the right amount of bar pressure to get a good feel from the bar and a fantastic controllable flight through the air. The Atom08 has lightning fast turning for a 12M kite and it's good for lighter winds as it's more mid aspect than the ION 3 so has more pull at the lo end. The kite is super slick and if your not quite decided on a kite then the Flexifoil Atom08 is definately up there with the best in terms of performance, quality and price - give the Flexifoil Atom 08 a try today.
